Naviguiding people to knowledges, connections and spaces that let them realize their potential
Absolutely. I just would not single out US law over any other countries laws on that front.
But that is perhaps just me liking self determined integrity and agency of all countries instead of the permanent suggestion, that others only have to catch up with the leader of the crowd: america.

The nice thing about Linux is, that it is the big tent unifying even all those who say „nah, much better different systems over here. And over there, too“ and doing their own thing. Not efficient. But resilient.

Und dann noch ein Kuckuckskind! Josef, der arme Beta-Buck, wird in eine fremde Vaterschaft gezwungen!

This was not a call for inaction. I was pointing out an attitude that is at times unhelpful.

Perhaps. But you should also reassess your perspective that one single person in one country on this planet would - either way - be solely responsible for anything global. It‘s falling for the American hero vs. villain trope and denies any other country agency. Just don‘t do that.

And ask anyone else elsewhere in the world, and you'll get: "What is a Mayflower?"

Welcome to the real world. It is always more complicated. What if not all actions of what many people consider „the car lobby“ are not aligned with the interests of all car makers? You‘d arguably get to moments like this.

The impulse is good. But pre wwii science in germany was not born by „foreigners“ coming. It was born by nobody wanting to go elsewhere because of the best conditions. Not a foreign attraction motion. So make what you propose the default for all and it would actually move the needle.

I think that differentiation is correct from a scholarly terminology perspective.

You just have to also always factor in, that such documents in CH also have to be read by all voting citizens (potentially) and that common sense understanding is a real factor for wordchoice here.

Doesn‘t this come in lockstep with the common trope of US media production time and again transporting „federal law” as the ultimate rhetorical hammer between people in anger, even though the scene is set firmly on foreign soil?

It is not unheard of to start preparation and implementation in parallel to the consultation (Vernehmlassung) in urgent and complex matters. It is also not a formal requirement to do them sequentially. Of course it opens an attack surface for political dissent when the order is not respected, though

where have you read that? Context matters. A lot.

Komm mal runter.

„Ik spür nüschte!“ is not data, my friend.

Du hilfst deinem eigenen anliegen nicht damit das auszublenden.

Perhaps. You can help, though.

There are many good reasons to not like socialism, but labeling everything you don‘t like „socialism“ is plain dumb.

Tariffs predate the idea of socialism by millennia.

49° is hotter outside than most ACs in the world can handle. Ask a Saudi car importer sometime.
You probably mean 49 Fahrenheit, the archaic temperature scale from the horsecart era. Can‘t help you there. AC meaning more than just cooling might be a hint, though.

Low hanging fruit and all that.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but that‘s a well established mechanism to effectively running concentration camps, too. Hire those who are desperate and ruthless enough to police their fellow inmates for a well judged little privilege and power.
