The BBC's justification for platforming Farage beyond the actual significance of his small parliamentary party are his polls. A rather cynical explanation, for he wouldn't be where he is without the constant, uncritical appearances he's given on the BBC. It's a (literally) vicious circle.

Or join the greens. Reform are just tories and we kicked them out. The Lib Dem’s screwed us over 15 years ago, be wary of them but they’re certainly a better option than Labour, tories or reform.

Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey has written an open letter to One Nation Conservatives who feel abandoned by their party urging them to join the Liberal Democrats, following Kemi Badenoch’s conference speech today

Full text of the letter:

Dear friends,

Our country is at a crossroads.

The Conservative Party under Kemi Badenoch is becoming more extreme and out of touch, chasing Nigel Farage instead of focusing on the issues that really matter to people. Meanwhile, Reform UK is growing in strength - threatening the tolerant, decent values that hold our communities together.

I know many One Nation Conservatives are deeply concerned about the lurch to the hard right in our country and under Kemi Badenoch’s leadership. Her plans to tear up the Climate Change Act and withdraw from the ECHR show she is abandoning traditional British values of tolerance, decency and the rule of law.

So my message to the millions of One Nation Conservatives who feel let down by their party and reject the divisive politics of Badenoch and Farage is to come and join us. Help us save our country and defend the values we all hold dear.

We will stand strong where others back down. We will not pander to Reform. We will fight to protect our environment, stand up for decency and the rule of law, and stop Trump’s America from becoming Farage’s Britain.

So if you share those values, now is the time to join the Liberal Democrats.

The real issue is a system protecting the super-rich while nurses & carers can’t make ends meet. Tax wealth fairly, fund public services properly. This is how we give Britain hope again.

I did forget about CQRS as a pattern and though. Defo need to brush up on this. I remember using this years ago, but I got to make the decision to use it on the project. Haven’t seen it used since so the knowledge faded. Could make use of it on my own project

I really should have more conviction in myself as a developer, I know and understand what I’m watching, it’ll tighten up my knowledge but it is there. Just never accessible in my head when I need it. I’m told that’s my adhd but at 44 and after years of killing brain cells how would I know 😂

Enjoying JetBrains .net dev day, laptop hooked up to the tv. Attended the DDD seminar on O’Reilly this morning but had to leave that for an appt. Going tow watch the recorded session later and catchup on what I missed. I like geeking out, nice change of pace

Your degree gave you valuable skills, the domain you chose taught you other things. The degree was valuable the cost these days isn’t. My computer science degree gave me opportunities, the cost was 20k, it’s tripled in 20 years. They’re pricing us out. It’s all valuable, fuck her, thick bint

Education unlocks possibilities, my degree gave a working class kid a chance. Don’t let them take yourchance away

I’m sure companies are growing and making record profits as they slim down products. On the street we don’t see the growth because it goes into the richest pockets and is offshored and very little tax is paid. Growth is fucking meaningless to most people as our high streets and communities perish
