Also, alternative theories and hypotheses are most often not funded and studies are not done following other possibly fruitful paths because no one is going to make money from the results. But, YouTube is not necessarily the enemy, but the user may be duped if they don't do their due diligence.

Nope. Depending on who you are listening to on YouTube. Sure there are quacks out there, but also good information based on science. But also note that Science is mostly paid for by corporations who have a bias and they pay for that bias to be the outcome of the studies they are funding.
