This is very helter-skelter stuff, I’m afraid. But what can you expect from an aged inhabitant of the Inferno? (she/her)
decided to finally play the hidden books game with my coffee this morning. relaxing! i thought. sitting here absolutely incandescent with fury at how long i took to get each of these

Also, I know some people find Faber’s covers boring, but I really appreciate their commitment to cohesive design

Have woefully neglected this thread on this platform, so here’s some other soups I’ve made:
- sausage & kale, my fave, several times over
- vegan black bean
- egg drop dumpling
- hot & sour (also egg drop, also with dumplings, but different!)
- coconut curry butternut squash with lentils

Oh ho ho I just remembered that my darling pal Emily isn’t on Here so I can actually show someone the absolutely beautiful mug that’s on its way to her for her birthday. I am sooo in love with it!

soup #2 is creamy chicken & gnocchi with heaps of veggies. i think it might be a take on an olive garden dish? idk, i live in canada. calfway through making it i remembered that creamy soups freak me out half the time, but this is honestly so, so good. 9.5/10

by far the best part of the weather turning (and i think i am pretty loud about being a cold weather girl for a lot of reasons) is being deemed acceptable for cuddles again

some other kitchen exploits from the past few days, since it’s finally cool enough to be in the kitchen without worrying about dying from heatstroke: the nyt plum torte; spiced plum jam; shaved brussels salad w/bacon, dried cranberries & pecans

soup #1. a take on portuguese caldo verde, but it’s not green because i wanted a thinner broth and thus didn’t blend any of the potatoes, & because i added smoked paprika to amp up the flavour from my veggie chorizo. 8.5/10

winter ‘23/‘23 soup thread. the goal is at least one soup a week, or 26 soups, through the cold months (ideally different recipes!)
