Likely, and I can see the logic in that.

My emotions on it though are all over the place because I am so used to being very independent in my past roles and was enabled to fix problems on the fly.

I'm actually unintentionally protecting the people who are making mistakes from getting caught by our internal monitoring systems. I need to let them fail so they can learn or be dealt with appropriately.

The problem is that the work that I end up doing is enabling other people to be lazy. I am essentially doing other people's work and they need to learn to do it themselves.

I have essentially been working outside my job role and it's because apparently people downstream of me are fucking up and made me seek out information and fixes they should've done from the start. I ended up enabling them to be lazy and my boss wants them to pick up the slack.

At work today I was called into my boss's office to have a chat. I won't go into the details, but essentially I was told point-blank I'm doing too much and I "need to let others fail" which... was so weird for me. I get what they are saying, but it still sucks.
