Shelter. We ended up buying a puppy, which was our last resort. If you have experienced owners, why does the distance from the shelter matter? If I chose to drive 150 / 200miles to adopt a dog. Surely that’s my decision? It proved to be a very frustrating experience.

It’s absolutely tragic. Sadly some of the policies that shelters adopt do not help. We have been dog owners for 25 years. Our last two dogs were rescues. We desperately tried to get another rescue after our last pooch passed but were told, on multiple occasions that we lived too far away from the
