Glorfindel in added as another named elf was required to greet the dwarves and he was already part of our LotR recording.

If these were performed live some of this doubling of characters would be impossible but on an audio recording it’s more than fine.

Easily managed in this case - some people on LotR did eight roles.

You’d be surprised going back to the original book how little some characters actually “say” by themselves.

Paul Corfield Godfrey uses Tolkien’s actual texts to create the libretto for the operas. We used a chunk in The War of Wrath - it could be worth an investigate though, but texts are not as abundant for that era.

B&L is already out - Paul wrote a full cycle of the Silmarillion.
