Systems & requirements, politics and legal news refugee from the birdsite. Bistatual. Futbol, basketball, cats, but not all at the same time. Coffee. Yes, coffee. DMs mostly ignored.
And they were damned unhappy about it, too. They expect to protect their neighbors, help out in disasters - not be weaponized against us.

I have a friend and colleague, progressive scholar, who wanted Maduro out. That does not mean that she’s on board with Trump expropriating Venezuelan assets and running the place. The US lost all moral legitimacy here (the shreds remaining) by bypassing Congress. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Return of the Glassholes. Nope.

All of the artists should play a “free speech festival” - open to everyone. Maybe even in the Washington Mall or Central Park in NYC. I’m sure they agree with the sentiment to share their art with all people. That’s very different from enriching the grifter and supporting the regime.

Will there really be any consequences for the redacted files, or will this be like the two guys killed in the ocean when they survived the first strike? Move along, nothing to see here…

A grrrrrl can dream. <sigh>

Yay! San Francisco next? Maybe Portland?
December 19, 2025 at 6:15 AM
And I absolutely agree! I hadn’t read the Friedman interview, and hadn’t taken the time to think through the implications of his appearance in the Epstein archive - especially for little things like, oh, journalistic integrity. You nailed it.

Oh. But having said that, I do appreciate the posts you’ve added here. They provide solid, valuable context to folks scrolling by who may not see the hypocrisy of Brooks as clearly. Succinct and well-done - thanks for taking the time to do this.

You know you’re responding to a parody account, right? It takes every Brooks column and reduces it to one pithy sentence. Not the real guy himself.

Veuve Cliquot is in the fridge. Neighbors know to come by when it’s announced. I may need to get another bottle or two - word is getting out.
December 16, 2025 at 12:37 AM
My Veuve Cliquot is chilled and waiting. Neighbors on standby to come by.

I have figured out how to disable Gemini across my Google accounts (and my business Google Workspace - yay for admin privileges). I still use O365 apps. If they don’t give us a way to disable the AI crap that may change. Google’s apps are inferior, but avoiding AI may be worth it.

That was definitely a good time.

More than just “failed to pass” - a majority of Rs said nope. Cracks in the edifice. Good.

The folks I know in Indiana who are pretty conservative are also fiercely independent. A couple of them would do things against their own beliefs about what to do if they thought they were being pressured or coerced into doing it.

Here’s hoping…. But doesn’t Trump’s pardon power have limits? I mean - I guess the US can just continue to ignore the ICC and UN…

Are we on “Hagueseth Watch”? How long until he is deposed, and then charged and incarcerated?
December 2, 2025 at 1:20 AM
I have access to a jackhammer and am in Portland - “the Rose City.” I’m sure many of us would be happy to be of service to our country in this way.

Has the Beeb never heard of Barbra Streisand?
November 29, 2025 at 10:52 PM
I’d prefer to never hear anything from, or about, Peewee Himmler ever again. Trial, because we do still have a rule of law and due process, and then incarceration. And silence. Let him rot in his own toxic juices until he draws his last breath.

And I expect that no action whatsoever will be taken as a result. Just a shrug, and moving along. Congress won’t act. These criminals don’t recognize the jurisdiction of any courts other than the ones they have purchased.

No. You had one job. You failed. Give up your leadership position tomorrow. Just shameful.
November 10, 2025 at 6:07 AM
No point. Burn it to the ground. Just utterly shameful.
