#6 of 2026: M - This may be the oldest film I've ever watched. A 1931 German film about the search for a guy who kills children. Part crime thriller part look at how society reacts out of fear. Surprisingly engaging.

Grade: B+

#5 of 2026: #Y2K - This film had potential. Rachel Zegler was in it. Y2K as a horror comedy has possibilities. But beyond a couple of laughs and a couple of moments of bloody violence it was a waste. Very disappointing.

Grade: D+
Review of ‘Y2K’ (2024) ★★
Normally in an apocalyptic movie you spend the first part of the film introducing us to the characters we're going to root for the rest of the film. In this film they kill one of them off right at…

A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical - A paint-by-numbers show that didn't break any new ground and lacked any real heart. Performances were fine, music was good but I couldn't really get into it.

All In - 2nd Broadway show of the year. Revolving cast of 4 that read from a script. Mostly funny stories but the high ticket prices are a bit much for what you get.

Skeleton Crew would have worked better as a 100 minute movie.

Oh Mary - First Broadway show of the year. Hysterical. A twisted take on history with laugh-out-loud performances. Definitely worth seeing.

I so prefer #YouTubeTV over #Hulu Live but with the new price increase, the Hulu live bundle with Disney and ESPN makes more economical sense. It's all very annoying.

Sequels I've seen lately -

#InsideOut2: I may have enjoyed this more than the original. This is peak Pixar storytelling.

#Deadpool & #Wolverine: felt more like, how many times can we break the 4th wall and make an inside joke. No real story.

#Twisters: decent ending. Rest was nonsense.

#Wicked - Sets a new standard for what a movie musical should be. Beautifully filmed, tremendous songs and an ending that will leave you standing up and cheering. The only question is, how many times will I see it before Part 2 comes out. #WickedMovie

#2 of 2024: The Equalizer 3 - I don't remember anything from the first 2 films and I'll likely forget this one too. It wasn't bad but there was a completely unnecessary secondary story that took away from the main plot.

Review of ‘The Equalizer 3’ (2023) ★★★
I don't remember a thing from either of the two previous movies so after the ending of this one I had to go back and read about them. If this had just been a story about an aging gun-for-hire who…

#1 of 2024: Totally Killer - Didnt quite hit the right line between horror and comedy (with random Sci-fi) but I found it entertaining enough. Solid cast, decent violence, a few laughs. Worth a see.

#86 of 2023: No One Will Save You - Lots of action, a very dark and moody look and a great performance made this one very entertaining.

Really enjoyed this. The movie rests entirely on the shoulders of Kaitlyn Dever since this is basically a solo performance. And it took me 20-30 minutes to realize there is zero dialogue in the film...

#84 of 2023: #Genie - Literally nothing new for any movie genre could be found here.

Yet.

Melissa McCarthy and Paapa Essiedu were so endearing I found myself enjoying it despite it being super generic.

And I'm a sucker for magic. And NYC.

#83 of 2023: Saw X - Not a bad movie, certainly better than at least the last 6-7 Saw films. A better story along with the usual torture porn.

#81 of 2023: Godzilla Minus One - A new origin story of the popular character becomes the new standard-bearer for Godzilla movies. Filled with drama, action, comedy and a ton of monster violence, this is a must-see event.
