"pilgrim" was OKAY before the fantasy elements were introduced. now that its a fantastical horror-odyssey with demons and ghouls its unbearably corny and somehow keeps putting me to sleep. how are you making killer sphynxs and werehyenas boring. but im already halfway thru so fuck it we ball

unfortunately the next book on my roster, which was described as a good followup for those who were sad "between two fires" ended, is in the unfortunate position of having the follow the previous act, and it is failing in pretty much every conceivable way. cover is pretty, though. but god damn

The Innermost Castle, seat of the Princess. These halls house her scores of ladies in waiting, who serve her in isolation as she toils towards some mysterious end. Without windows, it is hard to tell whether the castle is simply hidden within a larger edifice, or buried deep beneath the earth.
