Don't use generative AI to try to identify people from photographs. Everything from the eyebrows down is fiction and could put innocent men in danger while losing site of the true suspect.

I'm not a fan of the quote dunk, but this behaviour shows how clueless people are about AI and its abilities.

I love this every time it comes around. It reminds me about what is actually being demanded of me in all kinds of situations, and I need the reminder.
stimmyabby [via Tumblr] Sometimes people use "respect" to mean "treating someone like a person" and sometimes they use "respect" to mean "treating someone like an authority" and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say "if you won't respect me I won't respect you" and they mean "if you won't treat me like an authority I won't treat you like a person" and they think they're being fair but they aren't, and it's not okay.

It never occurred to me that Jesus was also a magician with powerful magic (I'm not a Christian but the history around it can be fascinating). In early Christianity, both Jesus and Moses were depicted in paintings and stonemasonry with wands performing magic to raise the dead and split rocks.
Painted in the catacomb of Commodilla near the Via Ostiensis in Rome, this scene dates to c. 365. It depics Moses striking a rock with an apparent wand to open a water spring. A depiction of a clean-shaven Jesus raising Lazarus carved into a stone sarcophagus ca. 340 in the Musei Vaticani in Rome. Jesus is holding what looks like a wand over Lazarus while a woman bathes Jesus' feet on the right. There is a crowd of men behind him on the left. An etching from the Roman Catacombs which depicts a clean-shaven Jesus raising Lazarus. Jesus is shown in flowing robes holding a wand out with his right hand. It hovers over a small mausoleum on the left with a wrapped body in the entrance. Painted in the Via Anapo catacomb in Rome during the 4th century, this painting depicts a clean-shaven Jesus holding a wand out with his right hand over several darker smudges I can't discern along the ground on the left.

I don't think James Cameron's Avatar movies will be looked back upon very favourably. His heavy borrowing from Indigenous cultures but making them blue doesn't sit at all comfortably with me, and this is what Cameron said about the Lakota Sioux in Newsweek in 2022 😒 www.newsweek.com/avatar-faces...

I got curious, so I found out that the table syrup I have in Canada has a different ingredients listing from the same syrup in the US.
The ingredients listing on the back of Canada's Pearl Milling Company Original Syrup bottle reads: "Ingredients: Sugars (glucose, glucose-fructose), Water, Cellulose gum, Salt, Sodium benzoate, Sodium hexametaphosphate, Sorbic acid, Caramel, Natural and artificial flavour." Nothing else is quite like the feeling of running into a gonzo paragraph like this one.
