"In a city of neon lights and perpetual rain, find the escaped Numan!" Launch trailer for ][ REMEMBER, a short game/walking simulator/visual novel heavily inspired by 80s Cyberpunk and 90s adventure games. Lots of reading, three different endings, 30 to 60 minutes of playtime for the initial playthrough. Not sure if this is of any interest to you, but one of the used game stores I frequent (near the Hannover central station) recently had an entire shelf of that genre of JP Saturn games for sale — must have bought up a collection, I‘d say?!

To all who are - justifiably - crazy about the FFTactics Remaster right now: Don't sleep on Tactics Ogre, which turns 30 today! "Tactics Ogre Reborn" has just about everything that makes Tactics so great (minus the Chocobos) & with an - arguably even better - story by @yazzmat.bsky.social

Wobei es sich bei Control, würde ich sagen, echt lohnt & die Kämpfe sich schon besonders anfühlen: Kurze, völlige Eskalationen, bei denen ich jedes Mal tief ausgeatmet habe, wenn sie vorbei waren 😂

Haha, that‘s fantastic! It was a sad moment when that ending cut out, even though I knew it was coming. No mag here in Germany did the same, so it took me until the PS1 days to finally see it in full 😅

Ja, das war eigentlich ein unglaublicher Deal, von heute aus betrachtet. Habe dann viel damit gespielt, das ganze Ensemble aber ein paar Jahre später für 25 Mark an einen Schulfreund verkauft. Eine von zwei Konsolen, die ich jemals wieder verkauft habe. In der Rückschau eine saudumme Entscheidung 😐

Ich glaube nicht. Viele Titel habe ich aber auch nicht mehr im Kopf, weil wir damals eine ganze Kiste auf dem Flohmarkt gekauft (& dann später leider wieder verkauft) haben. Ein Space Invader Klon war dabei, Pacman & ein Spiel namens Nightdrive (?!), das ohne Paddlecontroller nicht spielbar war 😅

One of my favourite NGC Games, in spite of its flaws. Also the last refuge of the gorgeous Final Fantasy IX art style 😉
If you enjoyed this, do check out „Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - The Crystal Bearers“ for Wii. It comes with its own problems, but the world & style are absolutely delightful!

I wonder if coming up with a gibberish voiceover (that could even be inspired by Swedish) might be another interesting option going forward? Although it would obviously limit the depth of the narration that actually relies on voiced lines.
