While the end of our startup funding means we cannot currently sponsor SCTN programming, we invite you to use the SCTN Slack for support, and hope you feel empowered to use it to arrange collaborations, share joy or frustration, initiate hangouts, or take any other action that will help you thrive.

We just signed onto an open letter by @ucsusa.bsky.social that will be sent to members of Congress next week on behalf of a number of US-based scientific societies. This letter urges Congress to act immediately to safeguard the scientific process, including protecting DEI policies and initiatives.

We are firm in our commitment to create inclusive community spaces, and we will continue the pursuit of our mission secure in the knowledge that building relationships and support for the people who are strengthening connections between science and society is a goal worth fighting for.

Our outrage goes far beyond anti-science moves; we condemn the full spectrum of ways in which the government’s actions are hurting people.

We are scared and furious, but our commitment to our community, has not wavered.

We are alarmed at how quickly and thoroughly the U.S. federal government and its agents have caused grievous harm to civil and scientific advancement, to ppl who power STEM enterprises, and to individuals all over the world.
