It's car dependant societies like the US your thinking of. There are plenty of "wealthy" societies that prioritize pedestrian safety over traffic speeds where kids can walk and ride to school or a park without being chaperoned.

There was one valuable lesson many of us learned after police started wearing body cameras...
Cops lie! Entire police departments will lie blatantly and often to shift blame onto their victims. No one should ever talk to or trust the word of any law enforcement officer in the US. #ACAB

We cannot be silent during this ICE invasion. Wherever ICE agents go we need people to come out and blow their whistles and chant "shame." They need to hear us in restaurants, at farms, in shops, at gas stations, and in the streets. They don't deserve even a second of peace.

ICE agents are already violating civil rights and the due process of law. Could we maybe try enforcing existing laws?

I hope some day we have someone in power who is willing to hold the criminals in the trump regime accountable for all the crimes they've committed. It's clear every republican and all establishment democrats must be removed to get any kind of justice or democracy back.

Widening I-5 is a massive waste of money and time. We know there are better transit options like trains that are way more efficient at moving people and products than highways are. We need to correct our transit priorities.

I disagree. Trump is easily manipulated with bribes and he clearly wants a peace prize. Therefore Machado's best option is to offer up her Nobel Peace Prize to peacefully save her country from the violent occupation of the US military. It's kinda the whole idea behind the prize.

It's unfortunate that the FBI and white supremacist groups arrested and murdered our greatest leaders in the civil rights movement before America had become an truely equitable society. We the people must stand up and fight back if we ever want an American society with liberty and justice for all.

As a pedestrian I can feel how dangerous it is to walk next to the huge strodes that cut through American cities with no traffic calming and no protection from the growing size of trucks and SUVs. In the US speed and parking are all the traffic engineers care about, not saving lives like in the EU.
