I recently requested this ocean literacy handbook from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) by email. They sent it to me right away! I’m excited to dive in and learn more to become an ocean literate advocate! Thank you NOAA! #oceanliteracy #NOAA #oceanadvocate #oceanconservation

Finished some homework and now doing some reading. Big thanks to Michal for suggesting a great book and sending me the first few chapters of it. Here’s a photo of where I spend much of my days becoming the best I can be! (When I’m not out at the beach or mountains 😉)

I’ve been feeling so uninspired lately. Maybe it’s this darn statistics class. Oh well, 3 more weeks to go. Here is a beautiful plant I saw on my walk the other day. 🌼

Went inside #NOAA on Ford Island in Hawaii! I only have a dependent ID so I couldn’t tour the place. I peeked into this room after a quick lunch at their bistro though! This globe shows sea turtle migration patterns. Really neat!

Captured this image at Pearl Harbor on Ford Island in Hawaii. That rusted circle is one of the gun turrets of the USS Arizona, which still rests beneath the harbor after being sunk in the attack on Dec 7, 1941. #PearlHarbor

Spotted this black sea cucumber (Holothuria atra) at Waikiki! These harmless creatures are the ocean’s vacuum cleaners, filtering sand and keeping reefs healthy. They also have an interesting squirt mechanism 💦 #Hawaii #SeaCucumber #MarineLife
