The start of another semester! I'm turning the science brains back on by explicitly letting my students know that the knowledge they gain is meant to be shared, meant to be applied. This is my way of starting with something positive regarding how science should be viewed. #notesofsci #scicomm

We need a scientist in office. Someone to advocate for and discuss current issues, bird flu, lack of vaccinations, etc. I've heard nothing from the current administration on these issues!

We are devastated to report that NABT President-Elect Lindsey (Carter) Fields was aboard the AA Airlines 5342.

This is a tremendous loss. Please keep Lindsey, the other victims, and their families in your hearts. We also ask that you respect the privacy of her loved ones at this time.

Some days I don't see it. I don't see a better planet, a cleaner environment, a healthier place to live. But every voice needs to have courage to continue on, it is worth it....we are all worth it, right?! #scicomm #conservation

Sometimes I forget how much land we as humans occupy. A little view from above puts it back in perspective. Let's save some space for other creatures 🦎🦌🌵🌴🐫🦩 #scicomm #conservation

The moon in all its glory today! Does the moon really rise and set? They do track this but really you should review the rotation of the earth, revolution of the moon around the earth and even the tilt of the earth and moon to understand it all! #scicomm

A beautiful snowfall to start the year with grass frozen like little shards of glass poking up. #conservation

Just an awareness note: Grateful our backyard birds can strut their stuff. Bird flu however is abundant in many locations! It has decimated many populations and is worth tracking, researching and noting the impacts.

I've struggled a lot on what is worthy to post on social media these days. With the realization that more time away from screens may benefit us humans and irony aside, I decided it is worthy to encourage others to communicate more about issues in science in 2025. #scicomm #conservation
