Anyone who knows or follows me is aware of my disdain for Aaron Nola. It's not the money, or the decline, amd not the stats. It's that he DOESNT CARE. He has no heart, no grit, no tenacity, no connection to fans or his teammates. That's why he's unable/unwilling to make adjustments.

The entire locker room dynamic was on display with Harper and Castellanos comments on Tuesday. No one guy runs this locker room. That's a problem. It's a bunch of passive guys who assume it's the "other guy".

This Phillies team was put together to manage and coach themselves. Thus a life-long bench coach drinking buddy is there trying to mange high-pressure games.
That approach had turned out to be a disaster. But it's the front office that thought would work. 2/3

Every team succeeding in this round of the MLB playoffs has one guy in their lineup who is completely dialed in. The Phillies have an entire lineup up guys stumbing through dark.

"Topper" is a life long bench coach who's here to let veterans do what they the want. In fact he's so loyal he won't show up Nola and take him out of the 1st inning after Freemam takes him deep for a 2-0 lead. Ranger will eventually go 6 scoreless but it's still the top of lineup that loses the game

Harper will play wherever you ask him to play. He's a "front of jersey before the back of the jersey" guy. As for Turner, he may have leverage after this year's stats, to dictate, but he's just a stats guy who's eventually gonna have to play 2B.
