I agree. Not even the ants. At least ants are hard workers.

And rats. Don’t forget the rats.

I think someone would be proud to hear this. ;-)

Meanwhile, Raven Beak has the smartest inclusion of Power Bombs for the bossfight.

As for my favorite areas, both Torvus Bog in Prime 2 and Burenia in Dread are among my favorite in the entire franchise. It incorporated the best puzzles, atmosphere and music in their respective games. Of course, Phendrana Drifts in Prime 1 is unmatched despite the Pirates’ Lab and the Edges.

While I’m at it, Quadraxis is still the best boss in all of the Prime games, and my personal favorite in the entire Metroid franchise.

Raven Beak is obviously the runner-up and the best final boss in the franchise, not to mention the implications in lore for Samus and the Chozo DNA she carries.

That said, Keratos in Ice Belt easily joins as one of the genuinely better bosses in the Prime series! Great tease of its reward and great overall moveset. Ice Belt on its own IS the best part of Prime 4. It’s the one time I felt genuinely thrown into an exploration loop! Screw the opening though.

Proteus Ridley, Emperor Ing, and AU 313 with Dark Samus all surpass Prime 4’s final boss.

I love multi-phased final bosses in Metroid with a sense of escalating threat, but what they did in Beyond is a complete lack of build-up or surprise and there’s some genuine Other M level of bullcrap.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is certainly THE most disappointing game in the franchise as part of the core gameplay.

Even without the desert, Beyond has fundamental problems and they can be seen by comparing Prime 4’s map screen to those from Prime 1, 2 and 3. The level design? What level design?

What about Killer Instinct?

They would have done the same thing with Silksong if it won, and it would have been worse if Ghost of Yotei did because of the grifters.

And having played Infinite, it aged like milk indeed and it was already a mid-milk.

I’ll play it someday, just not a fan of RPG in general. But what I’ve seen is a masterfully accomplished work of art.

Anything they make next will be inevitably compared.

“Can you feel the slop tonight?”

Same but for Hollow Knight Silksong. It’s always the best part each year.
