Maybe but it keeps improving and moving away from the retirement league part. Lots of good young players coming through due to youth academies on top of some good south american players in their prime. Guys like Trusty and Johnston have stepped in and adjusted no problem.

Depends on how you view the challenge aspect. In a salary cap league designed for parity and the sheer slog of travel it's a difficult league to win relative to the resources. Montreal are typically a shambles of a team as well and he did well there.

Also think the narrative changes if/when they beat the rams. Statement win at that point. They came close despite so much going wrong

I dont think people would be all in on the Hawks until they beat the rams. Darnold needs to exorcise that demon and the team need that statement win. Even with the loss yesterday the media are still high on the rams

If they could get the running game really going then I think they could win it all with that defense too. At that point you'd treat him like Hurts last year or a washed Payton manning in his last year at the broncos and just not put him in hero mode if you didn't need to
