Open postdoc position👈
We have an open position, starting early 2026, to work on an exciting project aiming at better understanding the role of thalamo-cortical brain oscillations in perception with a comparative, cross-species (animal-human) component based on electrophysiology (incl. scalp EEG).

Still playing the waiting game with the publication process 🤐😪😑 … but in the meantime, here’s some fresh evidence showing that cognitive conflict might actually feel rewarding. Who knew it could be fun? osf.io/c75tj

/1 We took our sweet time (~3yrs) to put this into its final shape - but happy to say that the pre-print of an extensive review of brain rhythms in cognition - from a cognruro perspective - is now available. Please let us know what you think. #neuroskyence doi.org/10.48550/arX...
Brain rhythms in cognition -- controversies and future directions
Brain rhythms seem central to understanding the neurophysiological basis of human cognition. Yet, despite significant advances, key questions remain unresolved. In this comprehensive position paper, w...

@scone-neuro.bsky.social has a great review coming soon led by @annekeitel.bsky.social. We summarize major oscillatory mechanisms and discuss open questions across a range of subfields in cog neuro. The preprint should be out soon.

Effect sizes still make only marginal appearances in cognitive neuroscience. A SCONe spin-off project aims to break some ground using alpha lateralisation as an example. #EEG #neuroskyence #PsychSciSky More here: sites.dundee.ac.uk/scone/2024/0...

We covered Pre-processing, Machine Learning and the HMP toolbox for discovering cognitive stages (very cool).

Also many new vacancies. Have fun!
