After everything we've been through Scotland needs new hope not old divisions.

The Scottish Liberal Democrats get stuff done, so we will always be the grown ups in the room and act responsibly and pragmatically.

In our discussions with ministers we've highlighted colleges, mental health, childcare, business rates, a fair deal for islanders and social care.

Many businesses are being faced with the prospect of massive hikes to their non-domestic rates.

Some are facing increases of over 550%.

We now need to see an immediate pause to the business rates revaluation, to ensure businesses are not hit with these eye-watering increases.

Margaret should have been home within 14 weeks, but she’s been in hospital for 14 months.

Every night in Scotland there are 2,000 people stuck in hospital because care packages are not available.

You cannot fix the crisis in our NHS until you fix the crisis in care.

Scottish Liberal Democrats are winning the fight against the SNP in the Highlands.

The SNP's relationship with rural Scotland is broken.

The Highlands deserve better.

By backing the Scottish Liberal Democrats, you can get change with fairness at its heart.

It is utterly astonishing that our NHS is losing £1.2m a day to delayed discharge under the SNP.

2,000 patients are stuck in hospitals in Scotland on a typical night.

These are people who should be cared for in the community at a quarter of the cost.

Margaret was rushed to hospital as she’d become paralysed from the waist down.

She should have been home within 14 weeks, but she’s been in hospital for 14 months, because the care support she needs is unavailable.

It’s happening the length and breadth of the country.

Trump’s interventions in Venezuela are surely in violation of international law – yet Keir Starmer is refusing to call that out.

Standing up for international law means condemning leaders when they break it, whether that’s Vladimir Putin or Donald Trump.

Liberal Democrats are winning again.

The Holyrood election in May is an opportunity for change with fairness at its heart.

Because Scotland deserves better - and with the Scottish Liberal Democrats, you can vote for it.

The SNP have a tired, toxic and, ultimately, broken relationship with the north of Scotland.

We are on the cusp of changing that: everyone in Caithness, Sutherland and Ross can vote for a strong local champion next May by backing David Green and the Scottish Liberal Democrats.
January 6, 2026 at 3:33 PM
For years the SNP and Greens planned to circumvent the landfill ban by sending 100 lorryloads of rubbish a day to England.

Now ministers have come up with a system of red tape to dodge their own ban, where waste still goes to landfill in Scotland after a rubberstamping exercise.

No matter where you are in Scotland, you can elect a Liberal Democrat MSP on the peach-coloured regional ballot next year.

Every vote for the Scottish Liberal Democrats on that ballot will deliver change with fairness at its heart.

These figures reveal just how much chaos the SNP are causing island communities.

The SNP’s failure to deliver new lifeline ferries has anchored islanders with an ageing fleet in constant need of repair, at constant risk of cancellation and costing millions in repair bills.

Shetland has some of the highest energy bills in the UK while renewable energy infrastructure dominates the isles.

Community benefit needs to be meaningful.

The Scottish Government should commit to giving Shetland its share of ScotWind leasing revenues.

For years, Liberal Democrats have fought to get us back into Erasmus, so this is welcome news.

The UK Government must do more to tear down barriers with Europe.

They need to listen to our calls to negotiate a bespoke UK-EU customs union and commit to a youth mobility scheme.

For years, Liberal Democrats have fought to get us back into Erasmus.

The SNP promised a replacement for Erasmus but never delivered.

From young people to businesses, there are so many people in Scotland who have been messed around by the Conservatives’ harmful Brexit deal.
December 17, 2025 at 3:40 PM
The Scottish Government themselves have said that these new bonds are to raise money for infrastructure projects.

Tunnels for Shetland should be seen as a “when” rather than an “if”.

This should be a no-brainer for Scottish ministers to agree to.

Scottish Liberal Democrats want to see safer drug consumption rooms, facilities that have a proven track record of keeping people safe, rolled out across Scotland.

We also want to see naloxone kits being mapped in the same way that defibrillators are.

Why the Scottish Liberal Democrats voted to remove the Justice Secretary this afternoon.
December 16, 2025 at 3:48 PM
When the SNP came to power only a handful of people ever had to wait over 12 hours, now we are seeing thousands every week and this week we've seen the second highest number ever.

That is the impact of nearly two decades of SNP mismanagement in our NHS.
December 16, 2025 at 11:28 AM
Scotland has a huge amount going for it, unfortunately our huge potential is being squandered.

Part of that is Brexit chaos and red tape.

But the SNP's economic incompetence and scattergun approach to tax has made Scotland a less attractive place to build up a business.

The new electric car charge will hit rural areas like the Highlands harder than anywhere else due to the lack of public transport options and the large distances that journeys can involve.

This must not be another city-centric policy that hits those in rural areas with the bill.

We’re weeks away from Nicola Sturgeon’s deadline for closing the attainment gap, but the SNP are still a lifetime away from making it happen.

The SNP’s promise to a whole generation of pupils from deprived backgrounds is irrevocably broken.
