Conservatives appear to be hitting a very significant wall in early results in Australia. This isn’t so much a ringing victory for Labor as another rejection of MAGA-lite. At this stage, 9% swing against their leader and he is likely to lose his seat.

In glimmers of hope, the Australian conservative Coalition who built their campaign on Trump-lite principles may achieve their worst primary vote since 1944. There are definitely some local ineptitude issues at play, but there’s also a lot of spillover from the US.
