I get it too. I instantly took to SD in a way I never did with MB. For me part of it was the elegance of the ruleset and the ability to run both OSR and 5e material with only a little work.

Thanks. I find that too many rules just got in the way of fun and good storytelling.

For me #shadowdark has been transformational in the way I game. It fully enables the OSR concept of "Rulings not Rules" by being so minimalist and well conceived.

I have termed it JEFA: Just Enough For Adjudication.

I would love to know from a published writer what is the best way to get from ideation to useful plot and story.

Like it waaaaay better than D&D 5E, Pathfinder, Daggerheart or Draw Steel's art.

Decided I would customize Yog-Sothoth's name for my setting in a similar fashion that Clark Ashton Smith did for his Averoigne stories.
