Las Vegas Aces up 3-0, on the verge of sweeping Mercury in the first best-of-seven WNBA Finals.

Without six players due to injuries, Fever split the first four games with LV last series… and forced OT in G5 down two more All-Stars.

Siakam scored 14pts, Nesmith with 12. Pacers shot 51%; 88% at FT line. 14 guys saw time in the first half.

Quenton Jackson, Taelon Peter finished half at guard, a position of concern now. Like it was for the Fever.

Delon Wright takes a hit to the face from Jaylen Clark, is bleeding from his face & mouth at center court. Then is taking back to the locker room with help of teammates and staff. Concerns for concussion too.

Spurs hosting Guangzhou Loong-Lions tonight in a preseason game — and Guangzhou added several former NBA players.

That includes Victor Oladipo, who wants to play again in the NBA after being out since 2023.

Former Pacer Justin Holiday is also on the team.

Only a scrimmage, won by the Blue Team 54-47, and then the Rookie Show. Straight to the point for the team after they had two off days in the first five of camp.

First of four preseason games is Tuesday in Minnesota.

A special, private Celebration of Life is being held today for Nancy Leonard. She passed away on Sept. 23 at 93 — and was a foundational piece of the Pacers.

Rick Carlisle cancelled practice today so that team members could attend, pay their respects.

Asked specifically about comments to Collier about Caitlin Clark, Engelbert denied it.

"Obviously, I did not make those comments. Caitlin has been a transformational player in this league. She's been a great representative of the game. She's brought in tens of millions new fans to the game...."

Cathy Engelbert: "There's a lot of inaccuracy out there, through social media and all this reporting" regarding Napheesa Collier's statement. They have since been in touch, and the two plan to meet again next week.

"I'm disheartened ... and it's been a tough week."

She said rules, and standards must evolve with the game.

The competition committee will meet after the season to evaluate the state of the game — including a new task force; players welcome.
