It's not the years, it's the miles.
Dad peers into the nest where there are 3-4 hatchlings just 2 days old. Also keeping a curious eye on things are the hatchlings' older brother, one of three born in May. A productive spring/summer here at RBAF Queenstown!

Dad tries to stay camouflaged to ward off nest intruders while pretty Mom flies off to get some well-deserved refueling before heading back to her RBAF Queenstown bunk. Why so vigilant?
VERY happy to report at least 3 newborn cadets. Dad's DEWS alerted him & chased me off base. #birds #birding 🐦

I still haven't wanted to check the RBAF Barracks for internal progress as Mom and Dad stay nearby and vigilant while their sorties continue. So we start with one of each of them but also some aviators from different air wings. #birds #birding

It's a busy #FeederFriday for our young parents. Mom is in the nest most of the day, but today she and Dad stocked up on fuel. She's back in the hangar, and he keeps a watchful eye on RBAF Queenstown from his nearby perch. Hoping to inspect the eggs soon! #birds #birding

Our young aviator pair checking things out around the nest that the hopeful Mom-to-be is building. She even makes a stop to socialize at the buffet. #birds #birding

We have our first confirmed pair of pilots who will make RBAF Queenstown home this Spring. Nesting activity moved into full swing yesterday. Good luck, aviators! 🐦 #birds #birding

An intrepid early morning visitor to the RBAF Queenstown barracks. His partner seems to have headed off...maybe gathering nesting material? #birds #birding

Things are heating up at the nest with several couples checking out RBAF Queenstown of late. The base has been well stocked all winter with food and fresh water. This young Lieutenant is inspecting the barracks...

Some of my feathered friends making their way to the feeder on a sunny winter day. Hoping the male and female bluebirds come back to the nest this spring. Fingers crossed! #birds #birding

On a nice crisp and frosty Maryland morning, I had this striking Red-Bellied Woodpecker visit my feeder and move to the trees to eat and enjoy some of the sun. #birds #birding

Alright, stepping into the Blue here. Perhaps it'll be a gentle migration, perhaps a stampede of lugging my...checks profile...whopping 339 followers over from Twitter (@ScottColeman_9). I guess that makes me a future X..ex.

I'll see myself out.

Hope some stop by to say hello.
