Sporting a new pair of reading glasses.
Sort-of a early birthday present for myself.

A self-photography of myself, Scott Lette. My hair is short and combed backwards. I wear a Polo collared shirt. Most importantly, I am wearing my new pair of Oakley glasses. I bought them for the frames and look - 'brand' is a meaningless term in 2025. Behind me in the photo is a tasteful nude, a half-yearly work schedule on a whiteboard, a large sitting chair, my Panama hat, a framed cheque from Charles Krank and my dressing mirror stuck to the home office wall.

Life is a series of learning experiences. And regret is all part of the experience. If anything, having your eyes opened to things is a plus you can take with you.

Clancy Brown does a bang-up job of voicing Lex Luthor in particular but the voice cast is almost entirely a strong point.

Another day. Another round of online tutorial for my screenplay class.

Note to self: Everyone loves the phrase '800-year old Nazi werewolf'.

It's a broader authoritarian move, to be fair to the mindless knuckle draggers.
You'll see this tactic in old school Kingdoms and police states alike.

Am watching Superman: The Animated Series courtesy of the HBO to-the-Max! Firehose.

It's even better than I recall.
Sure, I am overeducated and can cope with horrifying adult experiences.

That said? Still have a part of me that cherishes my own inner child.

Word has it that @sebkha.bsky.social is using Bluesky.
No doubt against his better judgement.

btw. there was/is a great recent Where Did the Road Go podcast (courtesy of @seriahazkath.bsky.social ) on 'The Invisible Gorilla' where they talk about how perception might influence paranormal experiences.

I don't think the average person in a more urban/suburban landscape appreciates:

1. Just how easy it is to get lost in the wilderness.
2. Just how hard it can be to find someone missing (living or dead) after they manage to get lost.
3. That land searches aren't perfect.

I use the term 'the guvmint' in fiction, usually in a comical way, to portray such a blanket term. Pretty sure Doris in the US' DMV isn't part of the In-crowd for UFO secrecy.

Ah, the Mandela effect.
What you believe in when you can't admit you don't know the difference between Steve Biko and Nelson Mandela.

As a former trained-but-amateur (ie. a volunteer) search and rescue member?
I have always found a certain series of books spurious at best!

Poor book-keeping and poor intra-agency liaising is I suspect a huge reason so 'many' go missing.

In Oz? We're searching within hours - not days.

I made the assumption I was never assessing their actual script ideas.
So instead I ended up both trying to tighten up each of their loglines, as well as having pointed questions and/or suggestions in execution when reaching their Resolution.

PS. BTiLC end credits music is playing as I write this.

Thanks for another great season of anti-authoritarian antics, @jamesgunn.bsky.social .

Hard to believe they looked like this back in March:
Two kittens, one black and one gray, share space in a small gray cat bed attached to a cat tree.

I found at least five films on this video I had not seen.
Naturally? I went and found all five to watch in the near future.

‘Six words or _fewer_.”
A meme. There’s a skull at the top, followed by the words ‘WRITE A HORROR STORY IN SIX WORDS OR LESS’

Somehow I find the Big Trouble In Little China soundtrack really helps settle my thinking when assessing the ideas of others.

Slept for twelve hours last night.
Sounds like a lot!

Considering I'd be running on 5 hours sleep on average for the last month or so, I guess I needed to play catch up.

I find the occasional crank call from Jeff the 5Eyes cubicle guy almost comforting.

Which is fine. The screenplay is a cornerstone of sorts for a movie or visual entertainment. A start, and not close to its finish.

I think I will pen one in the next year or so.
A screenplay that is based on this broad and rather forgiving genre. Probably a companion document as well that translates what I was going for - so the director/producer can ignore it all and do whatever they want with the screenplay.

Part of me wished I had suggested a bad 1980s-style post-apocalyptic genre piece for my screenwriting class at UCLA.

Which is a nice segue into posting the latest from @badmoviebible.bsky.social
