I watched ‘Dune’ for the 4th or 5th time tonight on my 75-inch Samsung and Dolby Atmos speakers, and it may be the best movie made in the last decade.

The more ‘Landman’ becomes ‘Friday Night Lights,’ the more I like it.

Spent the day talking to Europeans, and nobody can think of any precedent for what Musk just did to the US Congress. There is no businessman with that much power, the power to stop a routine spending bill, anywhere else in the democratic world.

Just watched the new Superman trailer and as soon as I heard the updated version of John Williams iconic score I was in. (And yes maybe a tear was shed). Nicholas Hoult looked amazing as Lex and I expect a lot of stuffed Kryptos will be sold this summer. Can't wait to see this movie.

I love Julianne Moore and ‘Magnolia’ is one of my favorite movies of all time, but she is horrible — HORRIBLE — in the “you call me lady” scene. @paulscheer.com @theamynicholson.bsky.social

Watching ‘The Princess Switch’ for the first time. When Vanessa Hudgens does lunges to stretch her riding pants, I immediately thought of Joey.

Look bringing back polio sounds bad. But it’s a small price to pay to get rid of pronouns in email signatures and black women in star wars.

I was out sick a few days this week and signed up for Starz to watch ‘Sweetpea.’

It’s a quick, fun watch — six episodes, very murder-y, great Ella Purnell performance — and then … poof.

There’s not much else to watch on Starz, so I’ll re-subscribe for Season 2. Story of a sub-scale streamer.

The sociologist Musa al-Gharbi argues that the Democratic Party has moved away from the working class and toward élites. This strikes him as a fateful misstep: Why associate your party with a group that most voters not only don’t identify with but actively resent?
Have the Democrats Become the Party of the Élites?
The sociologist Musa al-Gharbi argues that the “Great Awokening” alienated “normie voters,” making it difficult for Kamala Harris—and possibly future Democrats—to win.

Some of you are getting so caught up in short, splashy news cycles of the moment that you're missing longer, more consequential arcs. So let me try to get things back on track:

Erivo, Gascón, Jolie, Kidman, Jean-Baptiste, Madison, Moore. Two are gonna miss. AT LEAST two. Don't run from this!

CITI: Comcast's spin and Warner's restructuring "may be related. That is, we think Comcast’s and Warner Bros Cable Networks may later seek to merge. Long-term, we believe a sale of WBD’s Cable Networks may also pave the way for Comcast to acquire WBD’s remaining assets."

I’m more optimistic after listening to Daniel Ek here that @Spotify will pay enough to incentivize a critical mass of video creators onto the platform, but it’s unnerving that the company has provided no financial guidance.
