So over a year later much has changed. I will start with a catch up from the end of that last post.. The Worcester leg of the Countesthorpe Triple resulted in me winning the handicap improvement shield and a third place in the third leg which meant I had a Silver for handicap improvement overall. The Frostbite at Long Buckby Archers lead to a silver for myself and 2 golds for Kerri (for the single and double rounds).

Just a brief introduction. Before we start a few answers before the questions... Yes, my front teeth are missing (its a long story and a fear of dentists), Yes, I am fat. I've never been thin (as anyone that played rugby with or against me will agree).... Ok. Anyway on with me....

Apologies a quiet week. It's been hectic with my mother having a fall and being in Hospital.
This has meant having to drop out of this weekends comp. There are a couple of spaces left if you fancy a UKRS Worcester surl.lt/armcjv in Northamptonshire

Something very liberating firing arrows high into the sky with Clout. No target panic, no stress over perfect form. Just vague line & length that gets heavily adjusted by weather. It frames life quite well, understanding how little influence we have on outcomes once accept it's beyond our control.

Well that was an experience....

First tick off my bucket list for 2026!

Had the pleasure of an afternoon with Kettering Archers being introduced to the art of shooting Clout!

It really isn't that easy for a blind, Trad Bow shooting, novice..!

It'll come😆

Lovely afternoon with great company.

Fantastic day out in Daventry (at the Rugby Club, scene of some previous sporting endeavours many years ago) for the annual Frostbite competition. Brilliant weather compensating dor a poor score. Schoolboy error on my part but come away with a Bronze. Report to follow:-

With my first competition of 2026 kicking off at 19am Saturday I'm going the weather improves from this driving rain.
Only a single Frostbite round held in Daventry woth Long Buckby Archery. Fingers crossed for good score with the the AFB, a clear head, calm and most importantly fun.

So I now shoot with Targetcraft Archers in Desborough in Northamptonshire since May 25. The benefits being they have a field of their own allowing daily shooting if I so wish as we as twice weekly Indoor shooting locally October to April. With moving to Trad my shooting has improved immeasurably.
January 15, 2026 at 5:23 PM
Well that been an interesting 9 months to say the least!!
I've moved clubs to be able to shoot more often, had some issues around target panic & form, moved to a new bowstyle (or 2) to give me more freedom and a back to basics approach & gathered a few County Records here in sunny Northamptonshire!

Followed by the final Portsmouth of the Indoor season, shooting a decent score. Getting back to where scores should be (after scores dropping as I added a longer long rod and V bars to my set up).

Busy weekend of Archery.

Great day, getting sight marks for the upcoming outside season. With the final end of 2 tens and 3 nines (and a seven) in the last 6 arrows (60yds).
