Riding my bike, catching Pokémon, eating cake. Not all at the same time, not necessarily in that order.
Floss has been dieting for a month and is delighted to have lost 100g, just another 500 to go before she is no longer a Fat Cat.

We have cycle parking for customers where I work. Sheffield stands next to the car park. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my bike there all day as there is no CCTV and I would worry about something happening to my bike.

Just fished a fiver out of the washing machine. A gift from the domestic gods.

Blue sky and no wind, means only one thing - I’ll be tackling the essay section of the assignment that’s due on Thursday? Don’t be silly, I’m going out to play on my bike.

The Theatre Royal in Newcastle has a beautiful interior. Would have liked the opportunity to just look round the building. The detail on the balconies was exquisite.

As a big fan of Jaws, I took the teen to see The Shark is Broken at Newcastle Theatre. Considering they hadn’t watched the film (!! IKR!) they thoroughly enjoyed it. If the seats weren’t so uncomfortable I’d be tempted to go to the theatre more often.

Another day another bike. After yesterday’s hills I was glad of the e-assist. Beautiful day, had to stop to take my jacket off.

I’m not sure I know how to get home without going up a very big hill. 😬

To say I’m disappointed by the conclusion of this conversation is an understatement.

Why do I get so confused by my electricity bills? Haven’t sent a reading for a while and sent one two days ago, my adjusted bill makes absolutely no sense to me 😭

Bring back buttons. Scrolling and touchscreens create accidents in waiting. If you can’t rely on muscle memory to adjust a setting then the interface is not fit for purpose. (Does it show that I rant regularly about the stupid touchscreen in my car?)
Experts warn that touchscreens, which are cheaper for manufacturers, are becoming increasingly complex and mimicking smartphones, which are banned at the wheel
Car touchscreens ‘too distracting’ as simple tasks take 22 seconds

Preparing some ppt slides for uni and I am so glad I am a mature student with many years experience in data presentation. Much as I hate PowerPoint, today it is my best friend.

I remember this being discussed when I was in school in Thame (a million years ago). Would have used it to access the station had it been in place.
She also mentions the campaign for a new pedestrian and cycleway in her division: “The Thame to Haddenham Greenway has been in the plan for 30 years now. I am delighted budget has been allocated for getting to the next stage.”

The ski trousers were lovely and cosy for cycling in but now I’ve had to get changed and I am not nearly as cosy. Might be time for a lap blankie.

Last week I was all Girl About Town cycling to town in a skirt and jacket. Today, I’m wearing ski-trousers and a waterproof. Feeling quite wintery today.

Having a banana stop so thought I’d share: I SAW A LITTLE OWL!!!!
February 8, 2025 at 10:46 AM
Things I saw on my bike ride: snowdrops, a field of curlews, a pair of red kites. Spring is coming.

I keep seeing the bikehfx hashtags and thinking “West Yorkshire has a right lively bike community”, then it dawns on me that it’s not that Halifax.

Just been bitten by a snake.

Feeding Jimbo’s pet python and got my finger between the snake and the rat. I didn’t think it was going to let go.

In agony, need sympathy (probably making more fuss than I need to).

Just had a French lesson and my English spelling has gone to pot. Sell/cell stumped me for longer than it should.

My brain is rubbish at switching, but if I am reading a passage in French & come across a number - I revert straight back to English mode and don’t understand the rest of the sentence.

Recovering from flu (I wouldn’t usually call something flu but I was so sick) and I have to write a short summary about dysautonomia. I can’t even spell it without double checking. This is not going well.

One of these things may have caused the other.

(I hate indoor cycling.)

Starting 2025 even more forgetful than usual. I’m blaming being a woman of a certain age. Who would’ve thought that the cats breakfast time was so dependent upon my hormones?

Just had a truly soulless trip round the local supermarket. I like to do this occasionally to remind myself that I’m not missing out by avoiding the place. An upside of being an “empty nester” and not having to do a Big Shop every week.

I have to work in the morning so off to bed. G’night all and happy new year.
