Not often I read but on holiday this year downloaded ‘A Clockwork Orange’. Huge preamble about Burgess and his eventual dislike of the book and especially how the film failed to portray the ending.

I need to read his other works out of respect

Wife in hospital this week. She went to the toilet. Doctor appeared asking if I knew roughly how much she weighed. I responded with ‘More than a telly but less than a car’.

Doctor didn’t laugh. 17 year old daughter burst out laughing - winner!
