My memory was they were more open about their corporate roots while also operating as a garage shop without much marketing or PR blitzing
Like they set themselves up away from Redmond proper because they didn’t wanna be seen as suity but also carried that corp belief that products did the talking

Imo that movement was more a warning about unchecked engagement algorithms and how easy it is to disinfo a community to create wide schisms. The media problem is less about the lack of opportunity and more the erosion that Google have made with SEO algos

Is there a way to track this vs hiring over the 2018-2022 period? I feel like there was a mass hiring for funded projects as gaming looked hot leading into the COVID bubble and this 5-6 year lag would be about when those projects either finish or milestone funding is reneged on
