I think Guessand came on to replace McGinns legs and protect Cash. Agree, he could be good wing back. Think they'll both be good players this season.

Thougt Sancho was really good at the weekend. Signs that he's starting to pick up on Emery's system. Most shot creating actions for Villa and put a shift in defensively. Emery said he wanted to give him 45 mins in the second half, but the Buendia injury brought that forward. Looks a good addition.

I'm not an expert, but Villa posted 13 months of accounts instead of 12 to give them more time to sell Luiz and avoid a PSR points deduction. Same accounts at 12 months would have showed 89% ratio not 96%. With champions league revenue added it's likely below 80% end of this season.

Villa fan here. Played central in the academy, as a left 8 under Gerard, plays as a left 10 for Emery. Not a tricky player or an unlocker of defences. JJ runs powerfully with the ball and transitions quickly. He'll fit Newcastle's system very well, got to keep him fit though. Pisses on Willock 😂

The women's team loophole is closed now. If anyone offers £50m or more for Watkins, he probably goes, especially to Arsenal. If that doesn't happen they'll happily keep him. Not sure Arsenal make that deal at the fee Villa would accept.

Villa were forced to play 5 games in 13 days in February. When they approached the Premier league about a reschedule, it was flatly refused. They subsequently had only 1 Premier league match in the entirety of March. They were also refused last season ahead of a quarter final with Lille.

Yeimar Mosquera has been brought back from loan. He'll return to Villa once he's finished with Columbia U20. The 6'3" left footed centre half has been on loan at Real Union.

Buendia and Duran have both had minutes. There's definitely a hole in the squad. Let's see what he can do to the end of the season. If he fills a short-term need, late in the window, like Lenglet and Zaniolo last season, then fine. He clearly has the talent, but if he doesn't perform, it's a loan...
