Movies for better or worse are how we see ourselves, writ large
The teaser is AMAZEBALLS!

That's remarkable (and not only because I think ants are awesome insects).

I'm reading your article and I'm sorry your cartoon was pulled.

That being said, Democrats weren't any different so were your attempts to create political cartoons blocked during the Obama and Biden Administrations as well because what you're commenting upon is American 'democracy' in action.

Less about arguing than finding your point silly. Once again, it’s not about knowing you it’s about understanding humans. You do not going to anything totally blank.

Sorry, that just exists in your imagination.

People aren’t blank slates and they bring all sorts of baggage with them; that applies to movies and just about everything else. Just common sense.

Really? You go into every movie a blank slate? Why do I not buy that because if true you're probably the most zen person on the planet. What's likelier is you're like everyone else, which is to say there are myriads of factors that effect your viewing experience.

Sure, which is why I wish he had never taken the position in the first place.

He lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.

And by the way, that very sincerity is why I had misgivings of him running DC Studios (along with Peter Sefran) because since he's assumed the post he's said some very insincere things. (like how great 'The Flash' was, which makes me question his view on 'Batgirl' as well).

I can agree with that though that's something that's not always easy to quantify.

I think calling Gunn 'the true successor to Richard Donner' is a bit premature. He lacks the subtlety, the sense of grandeur that Donner made look easy.

Gunn is a good director, just not that good.

I don't hate either 'Prometheus' or 'Alien: Covenant' though both suffer from the fact that they're actively resisting what they are, which are Alien movies. Lean into that, and building outward would have likely resulted in better movies (never mind people going to alien planets w/o spacesuits).

And the problem is in the 'trying' as opposed to just being what it actually is.

The tension is the problem.

Like in the case of 'Prometheus,' I wanted 'Alien: Romulus' to be MORE Alien. Unlike what Ridley Scott seems to want people to think, there's space to innovate but you have to first accept where you are, as opposed to abandoning the most iconic – never mind pivotal – character in the series.
