Installed road tires on my Broam, in a bid to make it faster on pavement.
They didn’t provide the immediate boost I hoped for, but I think that’s partly down to my conditioning.
They do corner well, and feel comfortable at 40 km/h-plus.

A year ago I’d have told you I’d never be seen in public in cycling tights and a form-fitting jacket.
But the comfort and aerodynamic advantages are worth the mild embarrassment.
A quick 8 km this evening (two laps around a country block). Hoping for at least one big ride this weekend.

A frustrating ride, due to strong headwinds
Felt very quick in the last 5 km with the wind at my back.
Stupidly, I cornered too fast when transitioning from pavement to gravel and crashed @ end of ride.
Didn’t hurt that much, bruised my ego.

Haha. Didn’t notice how muddy I was till I got home. Possibly why folks looked at me askance at the grocery store.

A fun 10.72 km gravel ride this evening. According to Strava, my personal best so far at this distance (around 30 minutes).
Nothing to brag about, to be sure. Still, felt good to be out there and moving smoothly and consistently.
The new bike helps :)

My first ride with clipless pedals, and … that will take some getting used to.
In hindsight, maybe a bit more complicated than someone with my experience and fitness levels needs, but I’m glad I tried it.
