And this is why BG3 having the option to skip scenes you already know is a good thing. Because the game was made with replayability in mind and it's good that you can skip things you can remember well. (And if you want to rewatch them, you can do that as well.)

While people might not be obsessed about game mechanics, bad mechanics can kill the enjoyment so a good story will not save your game. I'm sorry, if you cannot have good mechanics for your story, rather make a video sequence for me to watch the story cause I will not play through horrible mechanics.

Is the ratio of lore text and rules relevant in this regard? For example, I try to keep the rules part as slim as possible and provide an extensive overview to the lore (metaphysics, species / peoples, historical overview of various playable times, etc.) I cannot even estimate page numbers here. 😶

Warum kein Englisch? Weil mir Anglizismen zu modern vorkommen. Worte aus den lateinischen und romanischen Sprachen passen für mich gefühlt besser zu dieser Zeit. Englisch wird dominant, wenn ich meine Version vom "British Empire" ins Spiel bringe: Die Allianz. (also: incoming Steampunk)
