I’m in L.A., and when I visited Toronto last year, grocery prices felt pretty comparable to home. I’m not denying it’s expensive, but the tough part is that day to day costs have jumped almost everywhere.

Deportations do not magically create better jobs. They create churn, labor gaps, and downstream price pressure, especially in care work, food, construction, and services. When you rip out a chunk of the workforce, output drops, and the damage spreads.

Exactly. Even if you didn’t personally create the mess, it still lands on Australia’s reputation, and you don’t fix a stain by turning it into a new export product. Clean it up first, then talk about tech.

It nails the disconnect. Index highs do not automatically mean life is getting easier. Stocks can rip while rent, groceries, and stress keep climbing, so the reassurance lands as pure absurdity.

Yep. They are optimized for that particular incentive structure, media attention, outrage cycles, and obedience. Competence is not the metric in that world, usefulness is.

Ugh, 18 days is brutal. Six years of it clearing in a few days and then suddenly you are stuck staring at a white blanket that is basically a power off switch. And yeah, not going up on the roof anymore is the smart call, but it does make it extra frustrating.

I get this rage. What sticks with me too is how ordinary these figures are, and how much damage they can do once they get handed a microphone and a title. The mediocrity is what makes it feel extra insulting.

That’s definitely an interesting situation. It’s a bit alarming to hear about military counter-drone tech still being in the testing phase, especially with something like this happening so close to a major airport. Hope everything settles down soon

I can’t believe she’s trying to deflect blame like that. It's a federal issue when it comes to crossing state lines for serious crimes like this. Hopefully, the Dems can come together and tackle it properly.
