Many of our viewers approach our reporting with the unshakeable belief that the earth is round, while others are convinced that it is flat. Our job is to challenge these assumptions rather than to validate either one of them.

💯. This also has the feel of provocation* — student backed by TPUSA aware of what they were doing and who the instructor was looking to get a reaction. The “0” was hitting the wingnut jackpot: aggrieved christian victim of elite lib tyranny.

… but reading more about it and seeing that the grad student was apparently solely responsible for teaching the class, whew. Should be getting full throated support from faculty in their department no matter what.

Man as someone who uses reaction papers sometimes (in a different field), I would never have a prompt this *long* for a short assignment, even if I were desperately trying to find ways to prevent their using an LLM to do it (they can still do that with some of these options anyway).

Oh I’m not saying he didn’t write some good history. (But he also was a Reagan advisor not so late in his life who was a bit too proud of claiming to give him the idea of calling the Soviet Union the Evil Empire)
