The vine borers are nasty little things. I've found if I plant winter squash/pumpkins a little later in June they aren't bothered by the borers. Hopefully my melons and squash fair better this upcoming season!
I was growing a squash plant and a honeydew plant last summer and they both were stricken by some kind of wilting disease. Perfectly healthy one day, half-wilted the next. Squashes and melons are super sensitive to environmental conditions. My tomatoes and peppers never have any issues though.
Little fungus gnats were always an issue with my potted plants, but I found spraying the soil with diluted peppermint oil works really well against them.
Currently, I'm trying to keep my potted avocado plant alive. The poor thing lost almost all of its leaves recently, but I've managed to keep it alive with persistent misting. Gotta stay vigilant!
RFK claims he wants to remove burdensome regulations in the food and health industries, but what he advocates for will require even MORE regulations and enforcement than currently exist. He's inconsistent. RFK is only there because of his anti-vaccine positions- the GOP doesn't care about healthcare
Hilarious. The guy who claims he wants to "make America healthy again" doesn't even have the courage to affirm healthcare as a human right. RFK Jr is a disgrace.
A large number of Trump voters cast their vote based solely on "vibes". It was never about actual concrete policy. Misinformation is king. They distract us with talk of a supposed immigrant "invasion" while they're gutting important programs and picking the average American's pockets.
I agree, it's a real problem. We're on the precipice of disaster. We rely on legal guardrails to preserve normalcy, but those guardrails are giving way daily. As it stands, there are still avenues through which we can challenge him. But who knows what the future brings. We've gotta stay vigilant.
The SC ruling only concerns the president's personal liability. He's effectively immune from all criminal prosecution for actions he takes as POTUS. However, the courts do have the power to stop his executive actions. Whether they will or not has yet to be seen.
Luckily, a federal judge has temporarily blocked the federal funding freeze. I have very little faith in any of the branches of our government at this point, but at least there's SOME legal opposition. Democrats need to obstruct every step of the way.
