Trump’s tariffs - and companies’ push for relief from them - has set off a lobbying boom with more than $900 million spent in the first half of this year.

The big winners: A small group of lobbying firms with close ties to the Trump administration.

Trump's 50% tariff on Brazil was a crisis for Taurus, which sells most of its low-cost guns in the US. So Taurus called Brian Ballard.

Trump's trade wars are fueling a historic boom on K Street -- especially for lobbyists closest to the president's inner circle.

Bloomberg Editorial Board:

Simply placing these tariffs on sounder legal footing won’t undo the damage that’s already been done. Far better for the White House to let them expire, blame the courts, and then reap the benefits of unfettered trade and improved growth.

Ever since Trump on April 2 announced the biggest tariff increase in modern history he’s insisted there’s no exclusions available.

The thing is Trump has granted exclusions to imports worth more than $1 trillion, as we reveal in this

How Trump Let $1 Trillion Worth of Imports Escape His Tariff Hammer
Exclusions reflect conflicting goals: to rip up the rules of global trade while cushioning US consumers. But the process isn’t transparent, and not everybody wins.

President Trump announced another preliminary tariff deal with the EU on Sunday. But as Trump’s tariffs get cemented in the evidence is mounting that they are hurting growth in the US and around the world.

As we wrote this week in the @bloomberg.com Big Take the economic impact of Trump’s tariffs and the uncertainty they are causing is there to see if you know where to look.

The key metric in today’s US GDP release: “real final sales to private domestic purchasers”. Its growth slowed to just 1.2%.
