At the end of the first book and the punishment continued until the next.

Also - why does an island modelled in The Isle Of Mann need so many rail services?

Name should have been meme…

Incidentally, I can’t actually remember what happened on this date, but I did remember the name.

I’ll just pea-roast this from a year or so ago…

What? A crane carrying an actor?
A 7Kg bird could not carry a 60Kg human, it’s a simple matter of weight ratios.

The ports of the same name were introduced with the PS/2 for keyboard and mouse to replace the old 6 pin DIN for keyboards and 9pin D type for serial mouse.

Ok… I may be showing my age here, but I initially thought PS/2 not PS2…

Here’s some PS/2s in the museum at work… I think some of them run games such as Alleycat, Pac Man, Prince of Persia, etc.

He’s a populist. Populists generally end up hurting the people who support them the most.

It should be abundantly obvious why pulling out of NATO is a bad idea, but this is his policy. At least unlike Corbyn he is pro-EU.

The above regex is in-order, it can be made to search out of order thusly:

(string1(?:.|\n)*string2)|(string2(?:.|\n)*string1)

I have always known this as “sod-casting” not sure where I got it from, but it checks out.

Fun fact about Shannon - he has the 1938 Noble prize for his masters degree on information theory. This is a prestigious prize, but not to be confused with the Nobel prize… Both Noble and Nobel were called Alfred, making it basically impossible to search for the Noble prize…

What Shannon did was create & prove the maths that underpins information/communication. It’s hard to imagine now, but someone had to prove that you could represent all information mathematically and electronically. Shannon’s work is there with Faraday & Maxwell for electrical theory.

Nah, he would have just appreciated the calculation of the entropy in the information channel… you need to make sure the message is understood at the receiving end…

Somehow I remember the comment of something like “this was the year they changed their motto from ‘every little helps’ to ‘we control every aspect of your lives’”
