but its not hard to convince me something is bad. i have this curse where i love reading reviews and criticisms of my interests but that also extends to things that i havent even experienced. & therefore. im easily convinced by these criticisms that the thing is balls because ive never. seen it

but like. i think i can only be influenced negatively 😭 even if someone rly rly rly likes something i . still often come out bored or disliking things. i dont like this about myself bc i wish i was more influencable & agreeable. but im Very Not Good at forcing myself to like things i dont like

but when something gets popular on tumblr or amongst my gf's coworkers IM TURNED OFF IMMEDIATELY i no longer wish to pursue it. i will proceed to avoid it until the conversation dies down Years later and then i finallt watch it

casual conversation doesn't count, just discussing anime and going "oh this is rly good try it sometime :)" doesnt turn me away, its the incessant suggesting & "dude what you havent seen this do you live under a rock xD" guess i fucking do & it doesnt have ur interest under there thank christ.

so what ends up happening is, instead of influencing me in the normal way like "oh this person likes it so it must be good" i become influenced in the "oh these acquaintances wont stop telling me to watch it. i bet its shit" way 😭

i think though. another part of it that i hate admitting is that i Am influenced by others' opinions 😭 of course i dont mind being influenced by my own best friend or girlfriend but RANDOM PEOPLE INFLUENCING ME??? That makes me mad i dont like it
