Clearly more cosmopolitan than British skiiers! (I don’t ski.)

Fair enough, but I’d never heard of them!

Maybe “Chinese Science” would be a better title.

I do struggle to see how the government really understand actually existing Britain, never mind express any enjoyment or pleasure in its better aspects.

Yes, fun is not a priority, but the phrase bread and circuses exists for a reason…
sean73.bsky.social
Never heard of it, probably because no English people go there, thanks to that z!

This is a government of tedious Gradgrinds whose vision of the UK is 1950s cosplay but with AI. A later pub opening time is spot on a another “40 years too late” policy for yesterday’s Britain.

It would involve councils owning places that can be cheaply rented by various groups, ie requiring real money and capacity, purely for “fun”. So it is not going to happen under this government.

All French climbing areas are weird to pronounce.

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.
There's a huge BUT coming ...🧵

Yeah but you have your dignity.

They did indeed get what they wanted.

As ever, such different routes, such similar outcomes.

Yes, when you go on a website where people post their opinions there is a risk that you will read some opinions. Even against a saint!

You misspelled fun; no one ever broke an ankle.

Alas this theory does not explain anthropology getting a mention, but nothing is perfect.

Don’t underestimate the “hot girls/boys studying English didn’t sleep with me, now I get my revenge” factor.

That is obviously nonsense because this trend is new for Labour. The Corbyn years saw way too much deference to the base.
sean73.bsky.social
They are just copying Labour. Or vice versa.

We will end up governed by the only people able to keep power in such fractious times.

The 2030 Dictatorship of the Podcastariat will be quite something.

But… what would a smart centre right party look like now? Where would their ideas be coming from? I can’t see any sensible right wing answers to much of what ails us.

Somewhere where Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus live alongside each other is a mixed community. It just doesn’t look like it to the likes of Jenrick.

I don’t particularly like the ethos of the Michaela school, but they get excellent exam results and have a lot of non-white pupils. They’re in Wembley which is definitely a few white faces area. Not that the target of this nonsense know that, of course.
sean73.bsky.social
Jenrick may not have seen any white faces, but the people of Handsworth certainly saw a white arse.

Talking of Cold War nostalgia, anyone keen on a “dress as your favourite traffic warden” outfit?
