I think you need to address my fact that Trump has aggressively neutered the GOP-controlled Congress. As part of Project 2025/Unitary Executive Theory. Telling that you completely dodged that demonstrated fact. You claim Congress - in just this new session - has suddenly abandoned its power.

Because the FCC has been weaponized by the executive branch. A formerly independent entity has been hijacked to intimidate & thwart negative reporting of its actions. A hallmark of authoritarian regimes. Duh. (Just like the DOJ! Double Duh.)

Correct. Congress needs to assert its Constitutionally granted power. But you misdiagnose. You assume that the GOP-controlled Congress has abdicated its duty. And Trump is filling that vacuum. Quite the opposite. The Trump/Executive Branch has steamrolled it into compliance/irrelevance.

But it seems you missed my point entirely. It’s not that the media is corrupt. (A separate debate.) But that the Trump Admin is corrupt. In that it’s wielding state power to intimidate or silence critics - via the formerly independent FCC. Which is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes.
