It's strange. You don't hear the people who say "you shouldn't have a third child if you can't afford it" saying "you should sell your £2m+ house if you can't afford to live in it", do you?

You might want to ask that of the female police officer who spent 6 months on sick leave after being hit with a sledgehammer by a Palestine Action activist. They aren't all grannies wielding placards, you know.

How can you frame equality as a bad thing? How?

I think it is only a matter of time before he announces his likeness is going to be added to Mount Rushmore…

Cue "politics of envy" headlines from the usual suspects

My experience of doing jury service was similar. And it was the people incapable of applying critical thinking to the evidence, either through prejudice or just through being thick, who were always the loudest voices.

I need to get off the road so that I don't inconvenience other road users...

It's only the wealthy who work hard, of course.
November 26, 2025 at 9:14 AM
Exactly. Basically, in-work benefits are effectively using taxpayers' money to subsidise corporate payrolls.

These people need to integrate!! No, not like that!!

There is a Maccy D's in Dalaman airport in Turkey. Last time I was there, a few years back, it charged something like £23 for a Bic Mac meal.

Oh, the *nice* type of racism.

The expression "the politics of envy" or some variant is something people fall back on when they know they have absolutely no case to argue. "Private jets should be taxed properly" - "aah-the politics of envy". "Huge SUVs should be banned from town centres" - "aah- the politics of envy" etc. etc.

The hash brown is the American Squirrel of the fried breakfast. An inferior American import which has almost entirely displaced our humble English fried slice

I wonder if she will reflect on the fact that she was a hate figure for centralists and left-wingers for a decade, but only started getting death threats when she turned on Trump/MAGA. Probably needs a level of self-awareness of which she is not capable.

Why do you think farmers should be exempt from a tax the rest of us have to pay? Whose taxes do you think should go up to plug the gap? They still get 10 years to pay any inheritance tax due, which is more than the rest of us do.

And it's "protest against". We're not the 51st state yet.

Their article's byline describes him as a "big-hitter". He was a backbench MP for 5 years and Johnson's PPS for about 6 weeks. Hardly Michael Heseltine, is he?

What? Somebody going into business by buying things up and selling them on at a profit? Shameless behaviour

It should have ended when he mocked that disabled journalist.

Can't be tried in a UK court because the case has to be brought within a year, and it is more than that. So he is going to try to bring the case in Florida. The problem being that the offending programme wasn't aired in the US, so no-one saw it. So how can he claim reputational and financial damage?

Farage has already nailed his flag to the mast. Siding with a hostile foreign leader against an iconic British Institution. How terribly patriotic of him...

Difference being that the Trump administration can make life very difficult for US Media companies, so they usually fold. The BBC, not so much.
