45 years ago tonight, John Lennon was taken from us. This means he’s been gone five years longer than he was ever on this planet. And yet, he looms as large today as he did then. I’m just marveling at the POSITIVE impact that one man can have.

The Bonus Army was a group of 43,000 WW1 veterans who marched on Washington, DC in 1932. They demanded payment of bonuses that’d been promised for their service, but weren’t scheduled to be paid until 1945. The protest was met with a harsh response- military force was used to disperse them.
