I remember my parents getting effed in the mid-80’s when the transmission would fall out their GM cars after 50K miles … but man were those seats comfortable.

One of the worst things to happen to American cars was in the 1970s and 80s when they prioritized things like the radio and the seats (“fine Corinthian leather”) while cheating out on things like engines and transmissions.
