It sounds like a lower register version of the USB device connect/eject sound, but possibly more annoying. Just don't get rid of the Mute option.

I forgot how it was wired. I checked pinside, and remember that post now. I still have it saved somewhere with my removed parts. I thought the post screwed on, but it's hard to see if there's any threading in the pictures. Sorry if my comment makes you spend more money...but nodding is fun!

I added a Maser Cannon mod, so mine doesn't look exactly like yours anymore. Are you sure the post didn't pop off from a different location? There is a bolt directly under my Maser Cannon where a post could attach. I'd recommend hopping on pinside.com, and compare your machine with photos on there.
