It's the expectations of society that my ace heart wishes to reject even in these kinds of spaces. For me talking to asexual people in queer and kink scenes opened my eyes to the possibilities of reclaiming it and using it to help people who struggle with the same kinds of questions that burdened me

I dislike the way it can be written from the dominating lens of heteronormativity that even well meaning artists are subject to in their works. Many artists I've know explore sexuality as expression which is freeing even for those with no interest in it

It makes me wonder if even demisexuality itself is a spectrum that we all express differently from one another

My feelings on the matter are complicated. For me sex can be artistic in a sense and even the discomfort can add to that. But I also feel like my perspective as someone demi makes it so that I view sexual things differently from even other demisexual people. I feel almost divorced from it sometimes.
