Maybe yours is the lazy, easy way out. Maybe the responsible way to act is to sift through the complexities. That's why we elect decent, smart, thoughtful people, to do that job for us.

I'm waiting for progressives to "man up" and apologize for allowing Trump to win.

Harris didn't try to win Rs, she tried to win independents uncomfortable with Trump and Jewish voters who want a 2 state solution, along with other constituencies. She lost because some "pro Pals," progressives, and Latinos were too stupid to vote and thereby prevent trump from winning.

It would be helpful to know what they were getting in the deal, because there obviously was a deal. Look beneath the surface, especially with people like Vindman. Emergency aid to Ukraine? I dunno, but finding out before knee-jerk criticism is a good idea.

A group of 70 plus million voters is not a monolith. Progressives are just one constituency among many with different priorities. Mamdani may not play in Peoria. Coalition building is essential. Anyone who thinks that their way of thinking is universal is uneducated.

Gore would've won Florida absent incredibly long lines in Dem leaning neighborhoods and butterfly ballots. It's not so obvious what tips the scales

The primaries reveal whom the voters like. No one can predict. Obama and Trump were surprisingly strong candidates. Hillary won the popular vote. It's tempting to blame politicians who can't control or predict outcomes. I never would've predicted so many progressives staying home, letting Trump win.

What about as VP on the ticket? And what odds did you give Obama in 2008? BTW, I'm not sure Pete is electable, but I think he's helpful in alienating libertarians from the Rs. There are multiple constituencies whose votes are important in swing states. The Ds don't need solid Red states to win.

I know Fox isn't a news outlet, but their audience believes it is. You're having trouble recognizing that. Pete is simply trying to peel some of the audience away.

Murdoch and Ailes were the ones with the master plan. They had a mutually beneficial relationship with Limbaugh.

Everyone who watches Fox thinks it's a news outlet. They're not a discerning bunch. Where else do Libertarians hear and understand the D pov on any issue? From watching Pete and other Ds on Fox. He's showing that Ds aren't granola eating flakes or the wonky woke or whatever silliness Fox peddles.
February 12, 2026 at 8:54 AM
Accomplishes nothing? Many Fox-watching libertarians would vote for him and have some influence on Fox-watching Rs. Purity People are the true performers, refusing to understand the most basic arithmetic required to obtain a majority.

Which is why people should vote for Conway or someone else who will caucus with the Ds.

Marty Robbins sang it, made it a hit.

Yeah, the Ds and Rs are essentially the same, except on support for NATO, Ukraine, the rule of law, civil rights, environmental regulation, science, health care, a woman's right to choose, humane immigration enforcement, judge appointments ... but those issues don't matter, don't affect me.
