I grew up in Anchorage and my parents often took me camping in the 80's. I remember stopping to see the wreckage of a plane that crashed near Summit Lake during WWII that was a short hike from the highway. What I remember about the terrain there is very similar to your photo.

That is gorgeous both the fursuit and the location which I am guessing is between Talkeetna and Denali in spring just after the snow melted.
